Will TO Win

How do you spell VICTORY?!  W-A-R-R-I-O-R!!!!!  That is how!  Our Waverly
Warrior boy’s soccer team fought hard for their win last night and it was a
blast to watch!  It has been so cool to watch our kids evolve like they have
going from a loss, to holding two teams to a tie score to now our first victory.
Their improvement, their determination and the evolution of their team work
coming together is paying off!  Hearing our captains lead, watching our boys
LISTEN to their coaches (now that is nothing short of a miracle right there!),
and actually being able to see all players working together to accomplish not
one, but THREE GOALS…there just aren’t words!

#13 Martin Bennett made our first goal, this young man is a force to be
reckoned with.  It was an incredible display of teamwork on our second goal when
#6 Trestin M-Finnerty and Mr. Martin Bennett again worked seamlessly together to
accomplish what needed to get done!  And lastly, #11 Nick Orsborn modeled to us
grit, determination and the never give up attitude it takes on the field at
times to be successful.  It took 3 attempts for him to score our last goal but
he too, in working with his team mates, finally made it.  I did think a couple
of times we were going to have to resuscitate a parent or two because some of
our goal attempts were so close.  I am fairly certain that is why the coaches
keep their hair short, so they don’t pull it out.

Might I add this blog that I am pretty sure the support from our WAVERLY
WARRIOR BOYS SOCCER STUDENT SECTION, complete with male cheerleaders and "the
wave" is why we were able to seal the deal!  Thank you so much for your support
gang!

You are not going to want to miss next week as we continue to watch the
momentum grow.  Here is the lineup:

09/09/13 5:30 @ St.Johns

09/10/13 6:30  Home – Charlotte * Black and Gold Game*

09/12/13 6:30 @Mason

Words From The Coaches

    - Will To Win -

" More than a trophy, more than a medal, team mastery is what defines a winner. They Compete against none but them self, because there is no other like them. Each struggle, each victory is their own. The challenges pushes them past their limits, as they fight to turn yesterday's weakness into today's strength. Progress drives them. To be victorious is to be at their best - more rewarding than defeating the rest." -Unknown
